Self Love....
Hi! I’m Arya—a girl who loves people, nature, and a whole world of
hobbies that keep my life colorful and exciting. From Bharatanatyam to Karate,
from painting to reading, and even volunteering—my passions are many. But
amidst all this activity, I’ve learned that the most important love I can give
is the one I show myself.
So, what exactly is self-love?
Self-love isn’t just about treating yourself to nice things or feeling
happy all the time. It’s about accepting yourself completely, embracing
your strengths and weaknesses, and taking care of your mental, emotional, and
physical well-being. It means being patient and kind to yourself, even on days
when things don’t go perfectly.
With so many hobbies and responsibilities, it’s easy to forget to pause
and care for myself. Here’s how I practice self-love every day, despite my busy
life:
- Listening
to My Inner Voice
Whether I’m rehearsing a Bharatanatyam performance, practicing karate moves, or diving into a book, I check in with myself regularly to see how I’m feeling and what I need. - Balancing
Passion with Rest
I love staying active, but I also know when my body and mind need a break. Taking time to relax and recharge helps me perform better and feel happier. - Encouraging
Positive Self-Talk
Sometimes, I make mistakes or feel overwhelmed. In those moments, I remind myself gently: “You’re doing your best, and that’s enough.” - Prioritizing
What Nourishes Me
Whether it’s painting, spending time with family, or practicing karate, I focus on activities that bring me joy and peace. - Setting
Healthy Boundaries
I’ve learned to say no when I need to protect my energy and focus on my priorities without feeling guilty. - Celebrating
Every Achievement
From earning my black belt in karate to mastering a difficult dance step, I take pride in my progress—no matter how small. - Spreading
Love to Others
Because I love people deeply, I find that loving myself makes me more compassionate and patient with others.
Self-love is a lifelong journey for me, one that grows stronger every
day. It’s the foundation that supports all my dreams, hobbies, and
relationships. When I care for myself, I become a better dancer, fighter,
student, and friend.
If you, like me, have many passions and a big heart, remember to give
yourself the same love and kindness you give to the world. Your happiness
starts with you.
